Frequently asked questions

How is the dominant palette extracted?

Pixels are sampled across the image and grouped into buckets of similar colors; the most common buckets become the palette. Click any swatch to copy its HEX value.

Can I convert between HEX, RGB and HSL without an image?

Yes, use the standalone color input at the top: pick or paste any color and all three formats update together.

Is my image uploaded?

No, pixel reading happens in your browser via the canvas API.
