Paste two JSON documents to see exactly what was added, removed or changed. Object key order never matters; large numbers stay exact.
How to useKey order never matters. Array order does — unless you say otherwise.
Objects compare by content, so reordered keys are equal. Arrays compare in order by default; the unordered option matches them as multisets (duplicates still count). A missing property and an explicit null are different things, and large numbers compare as exact text — never through lossy JavaScript numbers, so 1 and 1.0 are equal but 9007199254740993 and 9007199254740992 are not.
Ignored paths skip a value and everything below it. Duplicate object keys follow JSON.parse (last wins) and are flagged. Results cap at 1,000 shown differences.
Input
{"name":"Ada","active":true} Output
Compared against a second document where active is false: one changed path, $.active, true → false. These buttons share the page link, not your input.
Your current input will be stored in the link after the # symbol, not uploaded to Handy Browser Tools. Anyone with this link can read that text. If you send or post it, the service you choose also receives the link. Do not include passwords or private information.
No. Objects compare by content, so {"a":1,"b":2} and {"b":2,"a":1} are equal. Arrays compare in order by default, with an explicit option to ignore order.
Numbers compare as exact text, never through lossy JavaScript numbers. 1 and 1.0 are equal, but 9007199254740993 and 9007199254740992 are correctly different.
No. An explicit null and an absent property are reported as different, and the detail line says which is which.
