Good to know

Each image is tried at 4 rotations, and images with several codes are re-scanned with found codes blanked out (up to 5 codes per image). Everything runs locally in your browser.

Blurry, tiny, or heavily styled codes may not decode — crop closer or use a sharper image.

How to use this tool

  1. Drop an image containing a QR code, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V.
  2. If the code is small inside a large photo, drag on the preview to crop to it and select Decode selection.
  3. Copy the decoded text. Links are shown as text only and are never opened automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. The image is decoded on your own device by JavaScript running in this page, so it never leaves your browser.

Why wasn't my QR code found?

Blurry, tiny, low-contrast, or heavily stylized codes often fail to decode. Crop tightly around the code, use a sharper or larger image, and make sure the full code including its quiet-zone border is visible.

Can it read several QR codes in one image?

Yes, up to 5 distinct codes per image. Each found code is blanked out and the image is re-scanned, at all four rotations, until nothing new is detected.

I decoded a link. Is it safe to open?

Decoding is not verification: a QR code can point anywhere. This tool shows links as plain text and never opens them, so inspect the address carefully before visiting it in a new tab yourself.
