Are my PDF files uploaded?
No. Your PDF is read and processed in your browser. It is never sent to a server or stored in the site.
Will every PDF become smaller?
No. Already optimized PDFs may stay the same size or become larger, so the download is offered only when the result is smaller.
Does the quality slider preserve my PDF structure?
Yes. Every setting preserves selectable text, vectors, links, forms, and page structure while supported embedded images are downsampled and recompressed. Unsupported image formats remain unchanged.
Can I compress an encrypted PDF?
Encrypted and malformed PDFs are rejected. Save an unencrypted copy and try again.
Can compressing invalidate a digital signature?
Yes. Modifying a digitally signed PDF can invalidate its signature. Compress a signed document only when a broken signature is acceptable, or keep the original for verification.
